What Patients, Families and Professionals Say
Real words from the people Alicia has walked alongside.
Alicia has helped my child in so many ways. She brought hope where we felt there was none left, and now my child can communicate.
Thank you for helping me learn to talk again. Now I can say I love you to my wife.
Thank you for your expertise in my recovery. I am using the strategies you taught me so patiently and can now function well again. I am so happy.
Alicia helped me as me, not seeing me as the illness I had, not as just another patient, but as a person. Her holistic approach brought healing, and I am grateful she was there on the journey with me.
Alicia has broad clinical knowledge that she effortlessly applies, complemented by a mature strength of character and confidence. Her relationships with the entire multidisciplinary team are exceptional, stemming from her professional attitude, hardworking nature, pleasant demeanour and self-disciplined, reliable conduct.

Making a difference, one voice at a time
The starfish in our name carries a story close to Alicia's heart. While walking along a beach, an elderly man saw a young boy in the distance who was picking up starfish off the sand and gently tossing them back into the ocean.
As he neared the boy, the man smiled and said, "Why are you throwing starfish back into the water?"
The boy replied, "The sun is up, and the tide is going out; if I don't throw them back in, they'll die."
The man commented, "But, son, don't you realize that many, many starfish have washed up along every mile of this beach? You can't possibly make a difference!"
The boy listened politely. He then bent down, gently picked up another starfish, and tossed it past the breaking waves. "Sir," he replied, "I made a difference to that one."

While it may not be possible to help everyone, meaningful change can be made for every individual who receives support. That belief shapes every session at Aia SA.

The person behind the practice
Aia SA is led by Alicia Toumilovitch, a Speech Therapist and Audiologist who has cared for children and adults since 2017. Whether you're a parent who is worried, an adult recovering after illness, or someone who simply wants to be understood, you've found someone who genuinely cares.
She sees the person first, never just the diagnosis, and walks alongside each client with patience, warmth and real expertise.
